Kurt Eggers

Status
I am Kurt Eggers, a professor at the department of Rehabilitation Sciences in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Ghent University and coordinator of the Stuttering Research Group. In addition, I teach the courses of ‘History and basic concepts in logopedics and audiology’, ‘Stuttering and cluttering’, ‘In-depth scientific study stuttering’, ‘Evidence-based treatment of stuttering and cluttering’, and ‘Interprofessional approach of complex cases in logopedics’.
Research
I have worked clinically for many years and my research focuses on temperament, attention, and executive functioning in stuttering and speech disfluencies in different populations such as multilingualism, Down, and autism. I have authored over 60 articles, books, or book chapters, supervised several doctorates and have given more than 150 (international) conference presentations.
Background information
I hold a BA in Medicine, MA in Speech-Language and Hearing Sciences, and a PhD. in Biomedical Sciences (U of Leuven, Belgium) and Developmental Psychology (Tilburg U, The Netherlands). I am also affiliated with Thomas More (Belgium) and the Psychology and Logopedic department at Turku University (Finland).
